Someone asked me the other day if I missed my house and I said, “Actually, no I don’t!” I think with the new exciting adventures ahead, it was the end of a chapter that we were ok closing.
** For those of you who are a little lost, this is a kitchen remodel of our house that we just sold. **
We were so fortunate to have found the house when we did and to be able to sell it when we did. We were completely humbled and grateful that God was so good to us with that home. God provided well beyond our expectations and protected us even when I let fear creep in. He’s a good, good Father!
Here are a few before pictures to give you an idea of where we started:
Since we were ok with the layout, the easiest and most cost effective fix was to hire a carpenter to build new shaker cabinet fronts. We chose Simply White by Benjamin Moore as our cabinet color since that was the trim and door color throughout our entire house. We loved the clean & crisp look this shade of white provides. It is one of my favorites! You really can’t go wrong with this color in my opinion.
I wanted the gold handles to pop against the white cabinets and pop, they did! I’m a huge fan of brushed gold anything and everything. I’m sure there will come a day when gray and gold and subway tile are all out of style but seriously I don’t care. Brushed gold will be a thing for awhile in my household and no one can stop the madness. And the herringbone floor to ceiling wall? That was my favorite part of the remodel! We will definitely be doing another wall of tile again in the near future whether in our house or in a flip. Here are a few more shots of the kitchen, enjoy!
